Born in 1983 in Lebanon, Maya grew-up in France in a family of artists. Painter, illustrator and musician, her father, Elie Majdalani, has brought a significant contribution to the Lebanese artistic inheritance and in particular to the hand-painted film posters and billboards between 1960 and 1998.
Maya studied Illustration and Advertising at the Lebanese Academy of Fine Arts, ALBA, where she won, in 2004, UNESCO International Comic Strip 1st Prize. During the same year, she wrote and illustrated a comic strip, “L’autre et Lui”, that was published at La Cédéthèque. Later, she started her career at Ogilvy Lebanon as an Art Director where she won in 2008 Pikasso d’Or Unipole Award.
Today Maya, located in Beirut Lebanon, acts as a freelancer. She proposes to her clients a full range of advertising, illustration and graphic design services among which company branding, advertising campaigns, brochures, press drawings, event cards, wedding cards and illustration of comic strips and children books. In parallel, Maya teaches illustration at the Lebanese Academy of Fine Arts.
